Marcinelle
In the early morning hours of August 8, 1956, the Belgian mine at Marcinelle was transformed into a horrible inferno. A simple accident, blown out of proportion by the disastrous safety conditions and the delayed arrival of emergency services, resulted in the death of nearly all of the more than 200 men working in the mine. This mini-series relates the story of some of the Italian miners and their families from this tragic page in the history of Italian emigration.
