Yunnan province is located in Southwest China. In the northwest of Yunnan province, there are 800 rare quadrumana, sub-nosed monkeys living in the mountains at an altitude of 3,500 meters. In order to discover more about the life of snub-nosed monkeys, a camera crew has spent more than two years filming them. This is the first time anyone has studied the monkeys’ social system in their natural habitat. The social structure of the Yunnan sub-nosed monkey is totally different than others quadrumana. One familiy is composed of one adult male, two to four females and their children. Several families constitute one group. This social structure has developed very unique social behavior.
