Luisa San Felice
In 1798, following the taking of Rome by the armies of the Revolution, the Neapolitan grand bourgeois and aristocrats attempt to overthrow King Ferdinand IV of Naples, a Bourbon married to the sister of Marie Antoinette. Among them is Salvato, who succeeds in involving the young and beautiful Luisa San Felice. Luisa, torn between her love for Salvato and her loyalty to her husband, chooses love and the defense of the Neapolitan oppressed. She thus becomes a symbol, hated by a monarchy whose return from exile will lead to ruthless massacres.
