Loungta, les chevaux de vent
For the past 20 years, combing the planet for music for his Zingaro EquestrianTheater, Bartabas has pursued his quest for the essential, the pure gesture, which reconciles man and animal, mind and the body, like the profane and the sacred in the most evident simplicity. He prefers the ritual to the spectacular. For him all new musical encounters are a source of movement. In 2002, Bartabas again visited the Orient and spent several days at the tantric monastery of Gyoto, in a former Tibetan province in the northeastern corner of India. He watched the individual accomplishments of students in the ways of Buddha and found inspiration in a rhythm or a discipline to create images and choreographies for his new show, Loungta, the Horses of the Wind.
