Los Niños de Morelia
The Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936. The war caused many victims among the citizens. An organization of Mexican women suggested the Mexican President to give a humanitarian aid to the Spanish Republicans by granting hospitality to 500 children for the time of the war in the town of Morelia. Four witnesses, who are today in their seventies, tell us about their past and present as refugees during the dictatorship of Franco. They tell us about their traumatic crossing from Spain to Mexico, the sorrowful separation from their families, and about their new life in their new home, Mexico. Moreover they relate about how they grew up and how they feel today as Spanish-Mexican citizens.
