Les Orphelins du Condor
The military dictatorships that seized power in Argentina, Uruguay and Chili in the 1970's systematically violated the most basic human rights, creating a system of terror that reduced these countries to a state of ruin and dependence. Under their exercise of absolute power, tens of thousands of people of all ages were arrested and vanished, including hundreds of children. Many were abducted with their parents, others after their parents were murdered. Still others were born in detention camps where their pregnant mothers were held. Most of these children were adopted illegally by individuals connected to security or armed forces. Many of them never learned their true identity. From an in-depth investigation emerge the portraits of three children who survived these unbelievable events and crossed paths later in life. The film tells the story of Simon, Victoria and Julien, real witnesses to Latin America's terrifying history.
