A vessel that has not always known smooth sailing but despite the financial storms has navigated each new wave between tradition and modernity. Each port of call brought its novelties: the post-war years, the “ye-ye“ craze, the paving stones of ’68, the “peace and love” flowers, the punk rage, the pinnacle of French chanson, its decline and rebirth, the threat of the major venues such as the Zenith and Bercy, its demolition and resurrection.
