Le Regard des autresThe Way They See You
15-year-old Guillaume had suddenly and inexplicably lost his eyesight the year before. Once a “normal” teenager he had now become a young blind person. To learn Braille and get around with a cane, he is spending a year in an institution for the blind and vision-impaired in Marseille. Here he lives with other youngsters in similar situations: Julian and Soufian, both blind from birth, Linda, Stephane and Gaelle, whose poor eyesight is getting worse. Linda, who suffers from congenital glaucomia, refuses to hide her big white eyes behind glasses. She writes a song to express her feelings of rejection, to affirm that “we are as we are.”
