Le Mozart noir

Le Mozart noir uncloaks the mystery of Le Chevalier Saint-Georges. The film revives the epic story of Saint-Georges' life - as an ardent lover, a renowned athlete, a revolutionary, but above all as an extraordinary artist and performer. Employing lush recreations, period images, and interviews with expert musicians and usicologists, the film portrays Saint-Georges' rise to become one of France's most popular heroes, and his tragic fall from history. Le Mozart noir employs the music of Saint-Georges as a window into the spirit of his remarkable historical figure. His music is vibrant, colourful, complex, and crafted by a brilliant violinist. As interpreted by Jeanne Lamon and the Tafelmusik Orchestra "Le Mozart Noir" showcases Saint-Georges' work in the hopes that it will allow it to live again, and live on.
