More than 2,500 years have passed since Sakyamuni Buddha left this world, having attained Nirvana. Since then his thought has influenced half the population of the world, the story of his life has various interpretations and have evolved over time. The real life of the man is little known, and his message has often been distorted by religious doctrines. His teachings are subtle and divergent interpretations appeared as early as his own times among his disciples. Far from being a religious film, this documentary retraces the life and doctrine of the Buddha and the places where he lived.
