La Guerra de los PacíficosAuday's Story
This documentary describes the last war in Iraq from a unique perspective, because it relays the story - camera in hand - from the point of view of a middle class Iraqi family. They all sheltered in the basement of their house in Baghdad, all sleeping together with their due provisions, describing the war as it unfolds, waiting anxiously for George W. Bush´s ultimatum and narrating the conflict until the Americans take over the capital. The main storyteller is Auday Majeed, a 24-year-old student that narrates the conflict in fluent Spanish with a small DV Camera. His work is no more than a war diary. The documentary kicks off with the encounter of the journalists and Auday a few months before the war in a lasting friendship that will endure in a post war Iraq. Both journalists arrive back to an insecure Baghdad to take Auday to their hometown in Chile, as pledged. Auday´s Story is the unexpected epilogue of a human tragedy.
