La Chaîne sans fin
Jacques Wergifosse might not be known to many and he keeps very much to himself. Nevertheless, he is a fascinating character and one of the greatest contemporary poets of the French language. He was compared to Rimbaud for the amazing colours found in his poems and his free thinking. He was very close to René Magritte during the “Periode Vache” but severed the relationship when Magritte submitted to the business of art. Wergifosse is the last witness to the era of Belgian surrealism. He fondly remembers his friends and also reveals those he disliked. He tells us about the eye that sees like the hand grabs, about all the images that keep him alive, about the music that seldom makes us laugh, about the real world and the world of imagination that can be reached through frequent treatments of Dada.
