The new resurrection of a lost opera and the difficulties a conductor, Christophe Rousset, musical director of the Talents Lyriques, met in reconstituting the forgotten score. From the rediscovery of the manuscript in the library of an old Italian palace, to the musical recreation of the work at the Lausanne Opera, as well as the recording in Paris, the film follows the musings of an artist whose quest come at a key moment in his career. A career that finds its fulfillment in the performance of a work written at a turning point in music history: the late 18th and early 19th century.
