La Bulle et l'Architecte
Paul Häuserman is the architect who upset the standards by inventing ways of living and building. For him, a house is like a consumer product, like a car. A home is an envelop that we should be able to move about, enlarge and live in without restrictions. For some 15 years, he built dozens of houses, a polyclinic, a restaurant, a mobile theater, a hotel. In the 70s, his clients found it increasingly difficult to get a building permit. So he was forced to stop building this kind of house and turned instead to urbanism and other professions. Today, Häuserman shares his time between Geneva and Madras where he is again building houses. The film follows him on his trips to Switzerland, France, New York and India. Through his architecture, the film shows us another way to live in society.
