L'Homme au cigare
A documentary about the life and passion of the founder of the Luxembourg Film Archives: one of the last of the "homme-cinemathèque", the film stock dealer and movie buff Fred Junck (1942-1996). Andy Bausch, a Junck admirer, had long thought of dedicating a film to this "Luxembourger Orson Welles," with his stocky silhouette and his eternal cigar. With warmth and irony, the film interweaves a potpourri of film clips, archival images, reconstructed scenes and interviews with friends and enemies of this detective of lost films. It describes the passion of a cinéphile and his war against a hermetic, bourgeois Luxembourg.
