Who is Sahraa? is an experimental documentary about the exiled Afghan actress Sahraa Karimi. The movie experiments with different fragments of her life to depict the essence of exile as living in fragments. The 2000 and 2001 prizes of Montreal, Bratislava and Rotterdam Film Festivals went to an Iranian film called Daughters of the Sun. One of the main actress of the film Sahraa Karimi, arrived in Bratislava on December, 21st 2001 under the pretext of participating in Bratislava International Film festival where the movie was screened. In Bratislava, she applied for and was granted, six month later, political asylum. Sarhaa is one of the three Afghan actresses in the world with the credit of appearing in award-winning films.
