Jan Fabre - Der WolkenvermesserJan Fabre - The Man Who Measured the Clouds
In turn a director, performer, choreographer, sculptor and illustrator, the Flemish artist Jan Fabre explores the limitations of art and often those of the audience. This film shows the director during rehearsals of his play, Parrots and Guinea Pigs, presented at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris in the fall of 2002. The directors also observe his work as plastic artist, accompany him to an exhibition of his drawings and films. For this film, Fabre also united artists who have become his “allies in art.” Their conversations — often very heated — have to do with audiences, provocation, love and life. Excerpts from the works of each participant add texture to their comments.
