On March 20, 1994, RAI TV news reporter Ilaria Alpi and her cameraman Miran Hrovatin were killed in an ambush in Mogadishu. No part of this story was invented. Neither the deaths and the traffickers, nor the investigations and the enormous sums of money involved in the case. And certainly not the hellish international scenario that swallowed up two journalists whose investigative reporting brought them very close—too close— to the truth of a story they were not supposed to know. The film traces what happened to the two through a maze of plot twists that contain all the rythm and gripping tension of the best spy stories.
