In August 2002, two Chinese men were pushed out of a car in the middle of Rotterdam. One year before, they had left China, to get work in Europe in order to build a future for their family. They had to pay a huge amount of money - 15.000 euros - for this trip. In return they were promised a plane ticket, a good job and a place to stay in Holland. They lend the money at high interest, to pay 1250 euros in advance, the rest to be paid by their family once they had arrived at destination and installed in a job. Guo Yin and Jin Hai felt in the hands of the Chinese maffia that controls the human trafficking. For more than a year, they have been traded like goods between several snakeheads. When in Rotterdam, they were forced to call their family to ask them to pay the money or they would be killed… Guo Yin and Jin Hai made the same journey as the 58 victims of the Dover tragedy.
