Henry VIII
The enigma of Henry VIII, a tyrant, a skirt-chaser, the man who forever changed the face of England, has lost none of its power to fascinate several centuries after his death. This is the portrait of history’s most beguiling monarch and his six wives, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Anne of Clèves, Catherine Howard, Jane Seymour and Katherine Parr, most of whom would meet a tragic end. During his 38-year reign, England was torn by violent conflicts amid the people and in the church, as if providing an echo to Henry’s despair over not having a son and heir to the throne.
