Flores de septiembreSeptember Flowers
The 30,000 victims of the Argentine dictatorship include a handful of students from the Carlos Pellegrini lycee, one of the most prestigious institutions in Buenos Aires. Using the testimonies of comrades and friends, teachers and relatives of the victims, as well as documentary footage of the period, the filmmakers attempt a detailed reconstitution of the repressive climate of the times and the idealistic fervor of these teenagers who wanted to change the system. To give us a complete picture of this period, the filmmakers retrace the lives of a class which began university in 1973, the year of the popular government. The film follows the lives of Ruben, Mauricio and Juan Carlos, three typical students. Their story also allows the directors to deal with the current effects of these events and to start a dialogue between past and present.
