Filmer les petits Crépin
Fleury Joseph Crépin was over 60 when, in 1939, inner voices told him to start painting, without knowing anything about paintings— 300 paintings, the completion of which would guarantee the end of the Second World War. Born in 1875, Crépin began to compose music at an early age, then work as healer, water diviner, and plumber. He claimed to have completed his 300 paintings on the eve of the Armistice, on May 7, 1945, and a few months later took up a new challenge: paint 45 “marvelous paintings” to ensure world peace. He never finished this series — he died on Nov. 10, 1948. His work was discovered by Breton and Dubuffet not long before. The unusual beauty of these paintings make Crépin one of the great practitioners of what has come to be known as Art brut. This journey into his art is a close quarters introduction to the magical, mysterious work of Fleury Joseph Crépin.
