A documentary about an education program for Indians in Brazil, which has its roots in community traditions and whose teachers are also Indians. We see three peoples: Ashenika in the state of Acre, Ykpeng in Xingu, and Xacriaba in Minas Gerais. The film shows these Indians in their natural habitat. The teachers are Indians from the very tribes where they teach and they are capable of passing on to their children an education that stresses their cultural heritage and promotes the use of the Indian language. The school's methodology is to integrate ecological issues into the curriculum in respect of local peculiarities.
