Dworcowa Ballada

Railway Station Ballad

The Moscow subway teems with homeless children. They sleep anywhere and everywhere. Filthy, barefoot, their hand extended to beg for a coin. Every child has a unique story to tell. When they all dance, sing or play together, it almost seems romantic, especially if you add a lively music track. You'd think they're happy to be free. But their lives are obviously very harsh. They are beaten and chased away by shopkeepers and police. When the frustration becomes too great or when they've had too much to drink, they make lives miserable for one another. Most shocking of all is that, as a group, they torment and beat up homeless adults. This film deals with their moods, the aspects of their lives, without regard for causes, solutions or questions of guilt.
