Dominique Mercy danse Pina Bausch

Dominique Mercy is a dancer. In 1972, he met Pina Bausch in the U.S. and was invited to join the Wuppertal Tanztheater. In 1974-75, he danced the main roles in Bausch’s dance adaptations of "Iphigenia in Taurus" and "Orpheus and Eurydice". With her, he became a new dancer, a dancer who not only uses his body, but also the spoken word. He gave a form to the choreographer’s creative expression. The film shows us Mercy’s special grace and evocative power, his resistance and capacity to reproduce. It retraces his career from his childhood to his essential encounters, his choreography, his relationship to other dancers in the company, his commitment to a family that has lasted more than 30 years.
