A year after the terrorist bombing in Bali, which claimed more than 200 lives and wounded hundreds more, this film returns to the scene to size up its impact on Balinese society and the meaning of the terrorists’ act. Shot in July 2003 at the opening of the trial of the bombers, and even before the verdict that sentenced three of them to death, the film deals less with the political inquiry than the social and cultural dimension of the event, which in its own way bears witness to the tensions affecting Balinese society.
