Andreas Embirikos
Andreas Embirikos, a Greek surrealist poet, psychoanalyst and photographer, was born in Vraila in 1901 and died in Athens in 1975. He lived a fascinating, intense life: he was reviled and mocked due to his espousal of surrealism in 1935 and although he belonged to the left, he was arrested and suffered at the hands of the ELAS guard in December 1944. The documentary includes many documents filmed by himself as well as recorded moments from his discussions with Elytis, Nanos Valaoritis, Giannis Tsarouhis, Maria Vonaparti and many more, here shown for the first time.
