Allemagne, terrain vagueGermany, no man's land
Seven childhood stories, three generations and an emblematic street in Berlin. How has History informed the lives of Germans? What are their common memories? Their shared values? Apart from the bonds of nation or family, what is their doctrine of community? Returning to Germany, which he left for self-imposed exile, the director turned the clock back: from the building of the Wall in 1961, to the rise to power of the Nazis in 1933. On both sides of the Ackerstrasse, from East to West, he makes his way to where the Wall once stood, an empty lot of History.
