One of the few genuine ”samizdat” novels of the 80s, "Adio Europa!" was only published in 1993, four years after the death of its author, Ion D. Sârbu. It is the dramatic testimony — with autobiogaphical overtones — to a traumatic century of Romanian history and the horrors of the communist regime. The novel was adapted for television with many stars of the Romanian stage.
