Dariush’s story is that of a free man and the quest for that liberty, even if it collides with the convulsions of History, remains that of an individual bent on fulfilling his destiny. This master of traditional Iranian music was born in Tehran in 1951 where he lived the better part of his life. He now lives in Toulouse in forced exile since the Revolution. Today, this exile is coming to an end and Dariush can go home to perform his music in Iran. A music that comes from an in-depth exploration of tradition. So he will serve as our middleman between two parts of the world that know little about one another, especially since the Islamic revolution and the closing of the country. During concerts and instrumental pieces, the musician and musicologist conducts us deep into the modern Persian soul, as only music can allow.
