Z comme Zemour
Like a movie thriller, this documentary relates the dark, exciting career of the Zemour brothers, who reigned over a gambling, prostitution and racketeering empire. Captain Roger Le Taillanter, head of the Vice Squad in 1970, called them the "last underworld lords." He was a main witness to the history of these Algerian Jewish siblings, which began with their arrival in continental France as the war for independence was breaking out. The story of a legend of organized crime, but also that of a Sephardic family like many others, from a poor background, affected by the Vichy laws and the events in Algeria.
