Una vita sottileOn the Brink
When Angelo Russo, a high-ranking state official, is arrested on charges of corruption, the world of his 16-year-old daughter, Gaia, falls apart. Friends and neighbors turn their backs on the family, and things only get worse when Angelo is released from prison and put under house arrest. He fears that even his wife believes the accusations brought against him, and his relationship with Gaia is reduced to hostile silences and constant arguments. Gaia starts going out with an older man, but when he too lets her down, she runs away and attempts suicide. Fortunately she survives and, upon hearing the news of her father's imminent sentencing on television, realizes that she must follow her heart and not the accusations of others. She flees the hospital in order to see him before his sentence is handed down.
