Un jour, je repartirai...
A significant portion of immigrant workers who live and work in France while their families remain in Morocco or Algeria, are now reaching retirement age. For various reasons, they and their families have clung to the idea that all these years of work would be but a digression in their lives, that they would return home with the fruits of their exile. This myth has been shaken in today's reality. The long years spent in France have changed them. They have not kept up with the changes in their home countries, in their families. Foreigners, they are forgotten here in France. Their only prospect is to live out their old age in the residences for migrant workers where they have lived for a good part of their lives.
