Umatilla
Umatilla is the frightening true story of a small American town located next to one of the world's largest stockpiles of mustard and nerve gas bombs, rockets, and chemical weapons. Caught in what can only be described as a Catch-22, everyone in Umatilla is afraid--because the nerve gas rockets are loaded, leaking, and could self-ignite any day. Local fire and police authorities admit that they are not prepared to handle a chemical disaster. Children and teachers at the Irrigon Elementary School within view of the depot admit that life is scary. They try to live a normal life. Then came September 11th. Now Umatilla could be a target of terrorists or psychotic copycats. This documentary film shows the horror, the humanity, and the incredible courage of regular people trying to cope with a no-win situation.
