The Sucker Punch

When convicted pedophile and ex-boxing coach Gordon 'Gordie' Proctor is released from prison, a number of people react differently. For journalist Peter Lawson it's a chance to write a hard-hitting opinion piece on the inadequacies of the prison system. For Ina, mother of Gordie's then-13 year old victim Malkie, it's an opportunity to do now what she should have done then. Raz, Malkie's estranged best friend and ex-sparring partner, worries about his old coach. But nothing is as it seems. Truth, like the proverbial sucker punch, manifests itself in the most unexpected way. Gordie's release is a chance for him to make his peace with Malkie. But the reconciliation ends in tragedy as Ina seizes the chance to avenge the son she believes she failed years earlier.
