The Project

A group of students from the University of Manchester, among them, Maggie Dunn, Paul Tibbenham and Irene Lloyd, become militants. In London late in 1991, they campaign for the Labour Party for the 1992 elections. After John Major's victory over Neil Kinnock, Irene gets a job at the BBC, while Paul and Maggie begin to move up the party hierarchy. In the first episode, Opposition, we follow the phases and activities up till the victory of May 1997. The second episode, Government, shows the rites of passage of these students when they become part of the machine of state. An experience that climaxes with the Labour Party's second victory in 2001.
