The Human River
A visual and acoustical improvisation on New York people, masses, movements, sounds, incidents, moods, stories. New York is its people. Where else do so many people from so many cultures on so little space interact in so many ways? Where man-made canyons block the sun and divide the sky into geometrically shaped pieces, where the daily Human River, an endless stream of bodies and faces floods out of the subways, the ferries, the trains onto the streets. Where so many people live and work together voluntarily, in an atmosphere of high energy, visual and acoustic stimulation, there has to be some secret code of living, a hidden agenda, a particular, survival related sense of humor, otherwise New York would drown in its own chaos.
