The Final Migration
This documentary deals with the migration of the Guoshan Yao population at the turn of century. Historically, the Guoshan Yao is the ethnic group that migrated the most frequently in the largest area. The distinction between this and other historical migrations is that it was not the result of oppression, and was in fact encouraged by the government. All the periods other Chinese peasants have experienced since the founding of New China were covered by Guoshan Yaos of Thatch Ground in only one year. However, there were no film record about this historic process prior to the making of this documentary.
