Two brothers, Nico and Ottavia, have lived for years in Zurich and Geneva, respectively. Both decide to move back to the Ticino: their autocratic father is ill and is obliging them to take over the bakery and the village café. Ottavio, who dreams of turning his father's bistro into a fancy restaurant, takes a certain pleasure in his new work. But for Nico, who has come home half-heartedly, the bakery is only an excuse. His ambition is to become mayor and he is bent on modernizing the village. The story of two brothers, caught between the despotic moods of a sick father, old jealousies and their personal ambitions.
