Shanghai the Giant awakes
Shanghai is the symbol of the new China, a city that never sleeps. Every two ours a new firm is set up, every twenty minutes a new floor is added to a skyscraper, builders never stop and shifts cover days and nights. So what was once known as the Paris of the Eastern world is an amazingly energetic city growing at an incredible speed. Immigrants move in from the countryside, ready to accept any living conditions and any job to be able to stay. Prostitution is as good a way of earning a living as any, but it is a great place for many professions, from sex therapists to the latest trend, aesthetic surgeons ready to transform oriental features into western beauty clichés. Great wealth and absolute poverty here share the same streets. But there is a price to pay for unchecked modernization.
