Shadow Man

A nine-year-old girl spies two men breaking into a squat. She is fascinated, but keeps their existence a secret from her mother and sister. Unable to contain her curiosity, she brings herself to the men’s attention. Drawn into their world, a friendship blossoms: while the little girl herself is unaware she may be crossing dangerous boundaries, the audience is led to make uncomfortable assumptions. Our intent is to confound the audience’s expectations and provoke a controversial take on the accepted notion that all strangers are malevolent. Our prejudices, like our shadows, can follow us around without us even noticing them.
