Pehuenches, un peuple en péril
The Pehuenches, the "Men from the Piñon," live in the Andes. We meet these communities, discover their rich cultural heritage, and witness the impending danger. Indeed, the construction of a dam has forced them move away, impoverished them even more, spoiled the relations between communities and families, and has led to a quick acculturation without any economical evolution to compensate for it. The Pehuenches had fought against the Spanish conquistadors and against the political history of Chile. But will they be able to fight against ENDESA, a private company, a state within the State, and the project manager of the dams in Chile?
