Par la force des mots
Call it slam or the spoken word, oral poetry is an open territory where the individual, in the immediacy of performance, delivers his words and imagery as the basis for meeting others. His precursors even talk about a transnational community, whose members invent new types of relations based on poetic creativity. In the past few years, the circuit of the spoken word has enjoyed a genuine boom in the US and has reached in France in the wake of the film Slam. Practically speaking, it is obviously impossible to define this community whose artistic practices allow of types of expression and innumerable registers. The reality of this phenomenon is burgeoning, and our choice will be to approach it by following several persons who have contributed to this effervescence on the cultural and political level.
