Palucca - Ich will nicht hübsch und lieblich tanzen !
This film, made to commemorate the centenary of Palucca's birth, combines previously unseen footage with comments by some of her contemporary admirers, critics, pupils and colleagues. This blend provides a unique, new view showing Palucca the dancer, Palucca the teacher, and also Palucca the private person. Alongside Mary Wigman and Harlad Kreuzberg, Palucca was the most important innovator in the world of dance in the 1920's and 1930's. Her work, training creative dancers and choreographers at her dance school in Dresden from 1924 until her death in 1993, is unparalleled.
