Paco de Lucia
Before him, the stars of flamenco was mostly singers and dancers. Francisco Sanchez turned flamenco guitar into an art in its own right. He made his stage debut at the age of eight, accompanying his brother's singing, and he quickly turned out to be a genius at guitar solos. At 15, he took his mother's name, Lucia. Today, he lives in retirement in Mexico and devotes all his time to musical technique and composition. This intimate portrait of the star and the man includes numerous excerpts from his concerts and archival footage, in which also appear Camaron de la Isla, Al Di Meola, Manuel de Falla and John Mclaughlin. Chuck Corea and the guitarists he influenced, such as Vincente Amigo, Tomatito and Juan Manuel Cañizares, talk about their relationship with Paco de Lucia.
