Messages kabyles
Shamy Chemini, a politically active Kabyl artist, returns to Algeria after an eight year absence. In his village, It Brahim, he is reunited with his family and discovers the hardships of their daily lives: the high cost of living, a high unemployment rate, the idleness of the young. He attends a silent march organized by the village in memory of his cousin, who was murdered by police during a riot. In response to this never-ending violence, the village committees mobilize to go to Algiers and hold a peaceful march in order to present the President with 15 social, economic and cultural demands. But government roadblocks keep the demonstrators from reaching their goal. A few days later, Shamy leaves his homeland, convinced there is a war to be waged against corruption.
