Marilyn Monroe died on 5th August 1962 –40 years already. This documentary pays homage to one of Hollywood’s greatest stars. Our film is not yet another reconstruction of her career, but tells a little-known episode of her life: the years she spent in New York, trying to become a ‘serious’ actress, taking lessons with Lee Strasberg and setting up a production company with photographer Milton Greene. Based on hitherto unpublished photos from the Greene archives, the film focuses on the photographic image of a woman who remains one of the greatest legends in the history of cinema… and an enduring enigma.
