Les Petits Soldats de l'armée russe
Perestroïka deeply affected Russia, its political, economic and social infrastructures. And even if the country seems on the road to revival, there are many who haven't recovered from the collapse of the system. Children are probably the most vulnerable. Abandoned by families unable to see to their needs, they number, according to sources, between 700,000 and three million left to their own devices. In the face of this reality, children's regiments have been created in certain barracks. The army offers these rootless youths what the State cannot give them: a roof, schooling, training, even a future. Among them are Sasha and Pasha. Between target practice and the classroom, we share their daily lives, anxiety about the past and their aspirations.
