47-year-old French clarinetist Louis Sclavis is very much in demand today. Although he performs almost every day, with different musicians and orchestras, he's not one to rest on his laurels. He tries to take time to explore his craft and improve his technique. The dynamics of a live concert remain his prime motivation and concern. For almost ten years now - and particularly during two memorable African tours - he has performed with drummer Aldo Romano and bass player Henri Texier. While introducing a virtuoso who permanently reinvents himself, our film touches on different aspects of Louis Sclavis' life and work. We observe him during rehearsals and offer samples of his music and gives further insight into the character of an outstanding artist.
