La Place de l'autre
A provincial town. Eric, 25, divides his time between the real estate agency where he works without much commitment and Beatrice, his girl friend. The sudden death of his grandmother gives him a new lease on life. Glad to quit his job, he decides to work on a personal project of some scope: bring his father, Hans, back to a normal life. Alarmingly calm, strangely absent, Hans has led a reclusive life in their apartment for more than 20 years now. But when he finally acquires enough independence, Eric, suddenly idle, realizes that looking after his father was an excuse to flee his real preoccupations. In search of his own desire, he thrashes about in a tangle of unanswered questions and begins to feel depressed.
